The next 11 countries that are the most populous in the world each have populations exceeding 100 million. These include the United States, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Russia, Mexico, Japan, Ethiopia, and the Philippines.

The top five countries constitute about 46.6% of the global population; the top ten make up close to 57.5%, Top 20 countries add up to over 70%. One hundred three smallest countries/territories only contribute 1 % of the global population, and 175 lowest ranked constitute only 10 % of the total world population.
