Gemba: Gemba is a Japanese term meaning “the real place,” and in Lean management, it refers to the actual location where value is created—such as the factory floor or customer service desk. A Gemba diagram encourages leaders to observe processes firsthand, interact with workers, and identify opportunities for improvement. This visual tool is central to Lean thinking and continuous improvement practices.
